In April 2009 a partnership of all the Kent and Medway local authorities became the first ‘aggregated community’ to link to the Government Connect Secure eXtranet (GCSX). The collaboration has delivered savings and efficiencies of £1m whilst enhancing data security, resilience and business continuity. Aggregation supports the joining up of public services to deliver improvements for residents and is now set to spread to other parts of the country.
